300 Posts, 300,000 Views, and a 3-Day Weekend – Huzzah!

So this is one of those spontaneous late-night Friday dear diary posts about nothing in particular.

What I’m currently reading for my school’s book club! Probably won’t post a review because I read it a couple of years ago, but will edit my thoughts on Goodreads.

First off, a big thank you to all of my readers/followers/commenters/creepers/friends/miscellaneous individuals – a week ago this blog reached 300,000 views, and today I am publishing my 300th post. As I always say, I probably wouldn’t post as regularly if not for the encouragement I receive and the really great feedback I get from you guys. Even the feedback from the people who don’t comment, because I can totally discern your disgust love for this blog. I want to start thanking the people who visit this site and promote the site more by doing book giveaways, but I am not the most knowledgeable of all the procedures involved – perhaps I will make one after first semester is finished.

Now, because I do have Monday off from school and I have a little time to talk/write about random stuff, here’s a list of things that have been going on that aren’t emotionally captivating and beautiful enough to be turned into full posts. I will revert to musings, anecdotes, book reviews, and pop music soon!

1. I watched Glee for the first time in ages yesterday. I don’t even watch the show regularly, but one of my close friends is a big fan. I decided to tune in. Aside from hearing Naya Rivera sing Taylor Swift and witnessing homosexual relationships alongside straight ones, I was not impressed.

At least I alliterated.

2. School is stressful, but not to a serious extent – I am enjoying what I’m learning, maybe even a little more than I expected to. Government in particular has piqued my interest, perhaps because of how it somewhat correlates to the psychology of the masses and policies regarding issues like gay rights and abortion. In AP Lit we’re starting A Raisin in the Sun which so far has been better than Death of a Salesman, and in Biology chemistry is kind of killing me so I’ll have to study for my test Tuesday. Woo for hardcore academics!

3. I’m hoping to see “Pitch Perfect” this weekend. I need some brain candy stress relief! Maybe I’ll blog about it afterward, maybe not – we’ll see if it stirs enough of a reaction.

Anyway, it’s getting late, so I better be off. Dealing with family issues as they come, working on college applications and schoolwork, and squeezing in reading and writing when I have time – that is the summary of my life right now. I hope everyone is doing well, and enjoy this weekend and Columbus day!

Today, I took six bookmarks from my high school library which I most likely will not use. Then, I was forced to buy a hardcover copy of A Farewell to Arms even though I already have it on my Kindle. First world problems as their finest.

  1. Congratulations on getting all those views!

When you no longer need it, sell that sucker back!

  2. DEATH OF A SALESMEN > RAISIN IN THE SUN
    Personal Opinions.
After skimming through your book reviews I’ve definitely learned how much our taste differs–but I love that you read so much anyway!!

  3. Congratulations on your 300th post and your 300,000 views! Keep up the great work, your blog is awesome!
