Priorities

So I missed Key's sex face*, I mean, performance with BoA for school. Thank goodness for the internet.

I’ve kind of gotten a life. Instead of reading and writing and stalking watching Key on the internet, I do homework all the time. Now that I think about it, I actually don’t have a life. I probably never will.

There are bloggers out there who care about how many people read their writing. I’m one of them. That’s not to say that views and subscribers are the only things I care about – no, I’m not that shallow – but it’s nice to receive feedback on the book reviews/thoughts on pop/deepest secrets of my life I’ve put on the internet. With my inactivity one can assume that the hits and comments have decreased due to not posting anything for a long time.

More importantly, blogging allows me to express my thoughts and ideas. I feel as if maintaining this blog has benefited me as a person overall. Totally cliche, yet totally true.

So why am I putting school before my blog? Besides not wanting to get kicked out of the house, I know that an education is what will get me where I want to be, whether it be living life as a professor/novelist or eventually going to law school and becoming a lawyer. Essentially, I think it would be nice to have some form of an income when I’m an adult so I can, you know, survive.

Reading this over I feel like I’ve given the vibe that I’m abandoning this blog. Well, I’m not, and hopefully I never will. This is just a “heads-up to all my readers sorry for being so busy and not posting if anyone even cares” post. In fact I have several ideas for potential posts floating around in my head, but because I’m slow I like taking the time and exerting the effort to make my posts the best that they can be, I cannot actually place my ideas onto online paper yet.

Look, a distraction!

I intended to post some Key pics so that people would forgive me. Then I realized a lot of people who read this blog don't know who Key is. Oh well.

How important is blogging to you? What would you place before it? If you don’t blog, how about school? If you don’t go to school, and you don’t blog, do you work? If you don’t work… okay, I have homework to do. Talk to you guys later!

*here’s his performance with BoA. 0:16-0:19… words fail me.

Publicizing Unintentionally… Awkward

Last week I accidentally publicized my post about Key recommending Nicki Minaj’s album on Facebook. I didn’t realize it until three days later, and by that time everyone probably saw how I fan boy Key all the time. Not something I wanted my peers to see. Then again, I am posting this on a public blog that is available for everyone to view online. And I might as well accept the fact that I’m an obsessed individual with no life a unique guy with unusual, interesting tastes.

This introduces an introspective dilemma. Why should I be ashamed of my tastes? Who cares if I blog about pop and books and Key and whatever else happens to interest me? Probably no one, but that’s besides the point. I suppose I’m a bit shy when it comes to what people know and don’t know about me, and it makes me uncomfortable for people (especially people who I know in real life, strangely) to lurk on my blog without commenting. Or maybe I’m just a tad insecure – who knows what people think of me after reading this blog? I imagine them being like…

1. “oh, look at Thomas! he reads books! hahahahaha”

2. “LOL, he listens to kpop. and he’s not korean! hahahahahaha”

3. “KEY IS MINE NOT HIS MUST KILL MUST KILLLL”

4. “i spot a grammar mistake! i can’t believe thomas doesn’t know how to write english! and to think he reads in a corner all the time…”

My self-deprecating side just got a kick out of that. I actually don’t mind #1 and #2, but #3 and #4 concern me. #3 because I fear for my life, and #4 because I always believed I could write at least decently. I hope so…

Anyway, this post doesn’t really make any sense because I started with publicizing accidentally and then merged into insecurities over the internet… oh well! I have a copious amount of homework to do, so thanks for wasting your time reading this and have a great day (:

May Key be with you.

PS: By the way, today is the birthday of one of my best friends! Happy birthday best friend! You can visit her curry-based blog here.

I Screwed Up

So, I’m not the best with technology. I made a huge mistake with this blog, and this post is simply an update on what went on behind the scenes (or the screen, if you get my flow. I’m cool.)

It took me half an hour to figure out how to place a border around pictures, and another thirty minutes to add captions. One time I sent an email to myself and thought that I received an email from someone else when the notification appeared two seconds later. Am I lonely? I don’t think so. Anyway.

Sunday night, two days ago, I changed the URL of this blog. Completely changed it. What this means is that I erased my old blog address (aka URL) and replaced it with this one: (https://thequietvoice18.wordpress.com). The blog itself is the same, but all the links to my old blog address are now broken – meaning that when someone clicks on them it leads the person to a page with nothing on it. A 404 web page, apparently.

Seeing that a multitude of people view my blog through web searches, this significantly decreased my hits. It’s almost depressing that all of my dedicated fans will search for me via Google and be heartbroken when they come across a page of nothingness. And yes, by dedicated fans, I mean the awkward fan girls looking for pictures of Key…

Just kidding, I love fan girls. (image via allkpop)

This is what I’m trying to get across: a myriad of my blog links are broken, and it will take a lot of time before Google clears their cache and replaces the old address with this new one. So if you come across any links that are not operating correctly, it would be great if you could bring them to my attention. Or you can just spam all your friends and family with this blog, therefore escalating its readership and finally forcing Google to promote it. Just kidding, I’m definitely not that desperate.

Please? (image via allkpop)
