U-Kiss and Pelvic Thrusts… I mean, “Forbidden Love”

So I’m starting to feel guilty whenever someone follows this blog because of my pop/K-Pop related posts – not only have I not been posting that much at all, but my music-related posts have been decreasing exorbitantly! So, I’m making amends for that today by writing some short stuff on Pop and K-Pop. This, obviously, is the K-Pop one.

I wanted to write about my favorite SM groups, but through Google I discovered that they had not released any new songs as of late. Therefore, it all fell upon U-Kiss, the only other group I’ve ever paid much attention to in my posts – and guess what, they did release a new music video recently! This one is called “Forbidden Love”, or as I like to call it, Pelvic Thrusts. You can watch the video here.

It took me five minutes to get this screenshot. Kevin's face is worth it though... I find it funny yet somewhat sexy at the same time. You're welcome, fangirls and fanboys.

U-Kiss “Tick Tack”… I Am Impressed

I’m way behind on all things K-Pop and J-Pop, but I noticed that U-Kiss released their Japanese debut while scanning this person’s tumblr – U-Kiss has been on a roll of amazing songs lately, first with “Neverland”, and now with “Tick Tack” (music video here). I’m not going to go into an in-depth review because Simon and Martina beat me to it, however I’ll share some of my feelings after watching the video for the first time.

As you can see, Kevin is still pretty. So, so pretty.

I love this song. It’s catchy in the classic electronic/dance/pop style U-Kiss is known for and possesses a powerful sense of immanency. This is reflected in the intense atmosphere of the video, which is set partly in a dilapidated building and partly in a room with a clock in the background.

The theme of time was expressed effectively throughout the video. The clock in the background, how they’re holding pocket watches, and the clock-like dance moves all tie back together which makes this video more cohesive than most of its J-Pop counterparts. The dancing is wonderful, as they all display passion and unity while performing some of the most interesting moves I’ve seen thus far. I will learn that skateboard shuffle step move… one day…

I’m not exactly sure what’s being conveyed by the lyrics, though the English sounds nice despite the fact that it doesn’t make 100% sense… unless Kevin can turn on broken lights with his beautifully feminine face.

Sexy suits for the win?

Overall this song and its video has made me an official fan of U-Kiss. Before I had only admired Kevin’s gorgeousness them from afar, but with “Tick Tack” they’ve shown that they can be consistent even when debuting in another country. Other K-Pop groups debuting in Japan should take note, such as, um, SHINee, who’s Japanese album “The First” I will be writing about soon.

I enjoyed the equal usage of the seven members of U-Kiss in this video, the connection between the song and the video itself, Kevin’s face, and pretty much the entire video as a whole. What do you think of the song or the video?

A U-Kiss video wouldn't be complete without a seductive stare from Kevin. Now I want his gloves.

I Have a Twitter!/U-Kiss’s “Neverland”

So this is a short little personal update, I wanted to let you guys know I finally created an account on Twitter! You can push the button on the right to follow me. I currently have zero followers, which is indicative of the lack of friends I have in real life.

Anyway, have you ever noticed how much time social networking takes? After creating my account on Twitter I had to share it with all of my friends (I have friends?) on Facebook, now I’m writing this post, and then I’ll have to write a tweet or something… my quadratic equations and rhetorical analysis assignments are waiting for me! How will I survive without doing my homework!? (at this point I’m not even sure if I’m being sarcastic…)

Just so people can’t accuse me of not including any content in this post, here’s the song I’ve been listening to nonstop lately:

“Neverland” is a fantastic amazing club/workout song, and its beat is amazingly addictive – I’ve never been a big fan of U-Kiss, but I’ll have to reconsider that listening to this song so extensively.

Kevin can definitely take me to Neverland... wait, I mean Key. Now I have two attractive, girl-group dancing male K-Pop idols to fanboy!

How many social networking sites do you use? I use four – Facebook, Goodreads, Twitter, and WordPress. How often do you use your social networking sites? And if you’re also a fan of U-Kiss’s “Neverland” or U-Kiss’s Kevin, let me know!

Kevin Woo Has Abs. MIND. BLOWN.

So I was watching the music video for U-Kiss’s “Shut Up” when I saw this:

Hot, sweaty, half-naked U-Kiss members? Fangirl heaven. (cough, fanboys too)

Now, okay, attractive men are nice and all – but what the heck Kevin has abs oh my holy purple dinosaur. If you can’t see what I mean in the picture above (he’s the one holding the shirt), let me display another piece of evidence:

Kevin Woo's scary, er, hot abs via miserableattbest.deviantart.com

Allow me to reiterate part of this post’s title: MIND. BLOWN. Not only because that’s really great for him, I guess, but because it contradicts everything I know regarding Kevin’s personality, mannerisms, character, etc.

As my friend and fellow blogger the innocent lam puts it, Kevin is a “uke” – she states that he possesses “distinctly feminine facial features, a soft and pretty voice, is slender and delicate, and comes off as cute, shy, naive and unresisting.” And I 100% agree with that. In fact, many fangirls (and some fanboys, heh) are jealous of Kevin’s fabulously feminine frame, which rivals that of female K-Pop idols. Just look at this picture:

Kevin pretending to be a girl. (S)he's so pretty!

What I’m getting at is that Kevin’s cute and gentle mannerisms combined with his effeminate and spare body-shape does not mesh with him having abs. At all. Imagine T.O.P wearing a pink mini-skirt. It just doesn’t work out. 2 + 2 = 5.

Surely this will work itself out eventually. It’s not impossible for Kevin to dance to girl group songs superbly and have a tone, chiseled chest at the same time. Though it is difficult to process, at least for me. So skinny and slender yet sexy and fit… the fact that I’m getting worked up about this may exemplify the gender distinctions present within my mind that don’t deserve to be there.

Have you seen any other male like Kevin (pretty, but with a splendid stomach too)? What do you think of Kevin’s abs? Initially I thought they were kind of creepy, but now I’m leaning toward so hot so hot so hot so hot accepting them as a sign of his dedication to healthiness.
